Major Toms is the brainchild of 3 friends, Jay Smith, Karen Downey and Hamish Mathieson.  We love Mount Maunganui and feel it’s the ultimate location in New Zealand.  We have worked to create a bar experience here that has a warm and relaxed atmosphere where everyone feels welcome.  Somewhere you can come chill with your mates, listen to some good tunes, nerd out on the free wireless and soak up the thrift store decor.

Major Toms opened in December 2009, drop by and say g’day. It’s a home away from home for our friends, old and new.
